Daniela Amaldi was professor of Arabic language and literature at the University of Pisa from 1977 to 2008. She was an appointed member of the Italian Commission of the UNESCO from 1995 to 2006. She has been a member of the Scientific board of the Istituto per lOriente C. A. Nallino since 1998. Her main field of work is Arabic literature.
